Meriwether Springs is the area’s first combination winery and brewery. We are also an active event center, hosting weddings, corporate events, and private parties.
We are ideally located, situated a mile from the town of Ivy and minutes from the University of Virginia and downtown. We are also in the heart of the Monticello Wine Trail and many of the area’s breweries and are adjacent to the picturesque and recreational opportunities afforded by the Blue Ridge Mountains.
On 40 beautiful and private acres, including a five acre vineyard, Meriwether Springs is a sanctuary of natural beauty. The vineyard sits on the original estate of the famed explorer, Meriwether Lewis, who was commissioned by Thomas Jefferson in 1804 to lead an exploration across the recently acquired Louisiana Territory and into the uncharted lands far beyond. One of the original family springhouses remains undisturbed and accessible along a very short walking path from the property’s main building.

The current Meriwether Springs Vineyard property features a spacious and well-appointed event center, which includes two separate event spaces, an exceptional tasting room, a full-service caterer’s kitchen, and a bridal loft. The 5,000 square feet of stunning open post and beam architecture allows for exclusive and nearly unlimited configurations for your personalized event.

Experience our historical bed & breakfast
Our beautiful Meriwether estate overlooks our vineyard and sits in the middle of 36 private acres.
Expansive and quiet, we sleep up to 14 people in three queen sized rooms and a loft bedroom.
The bed & breakfast sits in the middle of very active wine and beer trails. We are also in close proximity to Charlottesville, the University of Virginia and many historical and recreational attractions.
We ensure that the property is well-maintained in its natural state and features several ponds and a large lake connected by numerous walking trails.

Meriwether for Ukraine
Meriwether Springs has partnered with the Liszewska-Bowen Foundation to establish a children’s center at the Warsaw, Poland central train station which is a relocation point for a large number of Ukrainian refugees.
We just returned from a 10-day trip to Warsaw where we worked with the Foundation which is actively supporting the most basic needs of the Ukrainian refugees. In the midst of unthinkable suffering, we witnessed exceptional acts of human kindness as well as the incomparable beauty and strength of the Ukranian people.
While there, we developed and funded a small children's center which quickly became a focal point of relief and happiness for Ukranian children and their mothers. The center includes toys, crafts and activities, as well as dedicated volunteers who extend great kindness and love to the children, offering a respite to weary mothers in the process.
We are proud to partner with the Foundation to expand the scope of the children's center. The center has grown so popular that there is a great need for a larger, dedicated space which can accommodate the growing demand. As such, we are working with the Liszewska-Bowen Foundation to develop a comprehensive children’s center in a secure location.
100% of the proceeds from the weekend of May 27 - 29 will be contributed to the Liszewska-Bowen Foundation for further expansion of the Ukranian children’s center.
